Valley Local prides itself on its strong parent and community values, a community supportive of children and youth as they grow and develop as learners.

Instruction in the Valley Local School District is based on Ohio's content standards for learners. We offer various researched-based programs and features in our schools to meet and exceed the needs of all  learners. 

The elementary school in our school system is literacy-based. We emphasize development of strong reading and writing skills in all students utilizing the Four-Block framework. Classes also incorporate important science, social studies, and health content. The Harcourt Mathematics program complements the curriculum and develops strong conceptual, computational skills, and number sense in young learners.

Our middle school program features a team approach to meeting the needs of adolescent learners. An adolescent literacy initiative at the middle school interfaces with the elementary program and challenges students with higher level content.  Valley Middle School ensures that all students reach their highest potentials by involving students in an acceleration and remediation programs beginning in the first month of school. 

Valley High School offers college preparatory, Sophomore to Seniors in collaboration with Shawnee State University.. We are pleased to offer our own in-house AP, CP and Honors courses in ten different subject areas.  Combined with our strong arts programs, Valley High offers students a well-rounded, 21^st century education.

Valley Local School District is committed to ongoing school improvement.  We pride ourselves with partnering with parents, some 40 different local businesses, and institutions of higher learning.  Our staff holds a steadfast commitment toward making decisions in the best interest of all students embracing the theme 'It's a Marathon".
