Welcome To Valley Elementary
Valley Elementary is located northeast of Lucasville on State Route 728. Our building is home to about 482 students in grades preschool through grade four. We also have three county Educational Service Center units housed in our building as part of our "Valley Elementary Family."The staff at Valley supports all students in experiencing success in different and positive ways. We maintain a clear focus on helping all learners as they make continuous progress to reach their fullest potential.

Kindergarten Registration

2010-2011 School Year
Registration for Kindergarten students who live in Valley Local School District will take place on April 15th and April 16th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. There will be an evening registration on the 15th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Parents should bring the following records in order to register a
student:
• Original Birth Certificate (not a hospital certificate)
• Immunization Record
• Social Security Card
• Custody Papers (if applicable)
• Open Enrollment forms will be available
The Early Screening Inventory, a 15-20 minute developmental screening, will be individually administered to each student. Mrs. Bev Clark, Primary Kindergarten Teacher, will conduct informational meetings throughout the day and evening regarding the Primary Kindergarten class.
Please allow one hour for the registration process. If possible, please follow the schedule below:
April 15th 9:00-11:00 a.m., last names A-F
April 15th 12:00-2:30 p.m., last names G-L
April 15th 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
April 16th 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., last names M-S
April 16th 12:00 - 2:30 p.m. last names T-Z

Students Helping Haiti at Valley Elementary
Students and staff at Valley Elementary held a Penny March on Wednesday, January 28, 2010. At the end of the march, students had collected $910.00. All proceeds were sent to the American Red Cross to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Valley Elementary is challenging all area schools to do their part as well and help Haiti!

First Graders Learn About Pilgrim and Indian Traditions
First graders enjoyed learning about pilgrims and Indians while preparing for their own Thanksgiving Feast. Ms. Bailey displayed quilts in her room and showed the first graders how different shapes make the pattern on the quilts. They each made a square of a quilt with construction paper. In Mrs. Howard's room, the children learned to play games such as jacks and marbles like the pilgrim children would have played. Additionally, Mrs. Spencer taught the kids about Indian symbols and what they meant. Finally, Miss Spriggs guided the children as they made a Dream Catcher from a paper plate and yarn. The students spent a morning traveling with their class going from one first grade classroom to another until they completed all the activities.More Articles...
