Valley Students and Parents,
While these times are very stressful and unprecedented, we are attempting to keep the learning opportunities as fluid as possible. Below you will find several topics of interest related to the school closure that has been extended through May 1, 2020.
As discussed in the last phone message, we are moving to an assignment/pacing calendar. You will find the assignments listed per week for the different grade levels. Please note, there may be an occasion in which this calendar is modified during the week. If this were to take place the teacher shall notify the students through their method of communication, likely email. The assignment/pacing calendar can be found on the website and the district’s Facebook page. This calendar should be active Sunday evening or Monday morning of April 13th.
If you are in need of wifi connection, all three buildings are now equipped with a signal. The elementary and middle school should have a signal in the front parking lots. The high school's best signal will be in the gym entrance parking lot. This will be available 24/7 until we return to school or the school year has concluded. If this would be of service to you please contact your building principal or your teacher for the username and password needed to get connectivity. Students in grades 3-12 would use their student login to access the wifi. Students in PK-2 would need to contact the above mentioned to get a username and password.
Many questions have come up about the current packets you were given back in March. As we need to attempt to go exclusively digital, we do plan to collect the materials. The collection will be Monday April 13th, from 2 pm - 6 pm at each building. If you have students in multiple buildings, you can drop off all at one building and the assignments will be forwarded to the correct building. We do plan to practice all safety habits at the drop-offs, please do not gather or enter the six foot distance of others. As you pull up, please wait until someone acknowledges you to bring your items to the boxes that will be provided. We ask that you place the paperwork in an envelope, write your name and grade level on the envelope and then place it in the corresponding boxes labeled with grade levels.
Our food delivery will continue on Mondays. The four locations will continue to be utilized to get the items to our families. The four locations are: Valley MS, Glendale Community Center, Victory Chapel Church and Center Street Church. Buses will arrive at the locations at 10:00am.
If you are an open enrolled student, during these times registration will be a little different, please check the website for the open enrollment form. You can complete the form and mail it to Valley High School, 1821 St Route 728, Lucasville, OH, 45648 or you can complete the form and email it to [email protected].
We understand this does not answer all questions, we will try to continue to have answers as we move forward.
